A Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is a document that verifies the origin, legitimacy, and details of an artwork or limited-edition print. It provides peace of mind to buyers and establishes an item's provenance (its history and creator) to help protect against counterfeits. A properly issued COA serves several important purposes in the market It guarantees the item was genuinely created by the named artist. Proves Scarcity: For limited-edition prints or collectibles, it lists the specific edition number like 7 of 30, to assure buyers that the specified limit wasn't exceeded. Maintains Value & Resale: Collectors are more willing to purchase items with verifiable documentation, which significantly helps the resale value and marketability of the piece.
